By using the extension, website, or cloud service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Boardit provides a local-first Chrome research workspace. Core local functionality is offered without charge. Optional paid services may include account-based cloud backup and synchronization across supported browsers.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for providing an accurate email address, protecting your credentials, and activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not use another person’s account without permission.
3. Subscriptions
Paid subscriptions renew automatically monthly or annually until cancelled. Current prices and billing intervals are shown before purchase. Applicable taxes may be added. Stripe processes payments.
You may cancel through the Stripe-hosted billing portal. Unless required otherwise by law, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period and previously paid charges are not automatically refunded. Local functionality and local data remain available after cancellation.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of research and other content you place in Boardit. You grant us only the limited permission necessary to store, transmit, synchronize, and process content when you enable cloud features. You are responsible for having the right to save and use that content.
5. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with service operation, distribute malicious code, use the service unlawfully, or use it to violate another person’s rights. We may restrict cloud access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Beta features may change. We may modify or discontinue features, with reasonable notice when a change materially affects a paid service.
7. Backups and exports
Cloud synchronization is an additional recovery mechanism, not a guarantee against every form of data loss. Maintain exports of important research. Review the documentation and Privacy Policy for retention and deletion periods.
8. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Boardit is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Boardit and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or opportunity. Any aggregate liability relating to a paid service will not exceed the amount you paid for that service during the twelve months before the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using Boardit at any time. We may suspend or terminate cloud service for material violations of these terms, security risks, or legal requirements. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction.
